Roger Ebert on Sarah Palin: The American Idol candidate

I think I might be able to explain some of Sarah Palin's appeal. She's the "American Idol" candidate. Consider. What defines an "American Idol" finalist? They're good-looking, work well on television, have a sunny personality, are fierce competitors, and so talented, why, they're darned near the real thing. No journalistic merit. No reporting, pure opinion. The author did not even study his subject. He does not know that Canada is a different country from the U.S. (perhaps thinks it is one of Obama's 57 states?). No reason for submitting to NewsTrust.
