U.S., Iran Have 'Significant Conversation' on Sidelines of Switzerland Talks

A U.S. official at nuclear talks in Switzerland says there has been a "significant conversation" between the chief U.S. and Iranian delegates.

The meeting between U.S. Undersecretary of State William Burns and Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili took place on the sidelines of six-party talks with Iran over Tehran's controversial nuclear program. Full Story »

Good report, but would benefit if it made clear whether the US will accept Iranian enrichment of U-235 to 5% or less purity, if adequate IAEA inspections are allowed.

Iranians bristle at being pushed around, or being seen to be pushed around. US must keep in mind that it makes no noise about Israel's failure to sign the NPT, while making a great deal of noise about Iran's lack of adequate transparency. Israel, of course, is totally opaque.
