Communities need help finding information on the Web they can trust

One intriguing experiment that I've been following is called NewsTrust.net, based in Marin and funded in large part by the MacArthur Foundation. At NewsTrust, people post links to stories they recommend and then fill out a form to evaluate the story's reliability. These ratings don't just apply to a single story, but are assigned to the news organization (or individual) so that they create a reputation over time.
