Conason takes the time to dig into the past of these two right-wing personalities. It is important to understand how their understanding of race has been shaped. However, it also seems apparent that they play to there audience, to some degree. Conason doesn't discuss this from a market perspective -- that there's significant cross section of the U.S. population with whom Rush and Beck resonate.

This is good -- and necessary -- journalism. The piece has been well researched and is presented with reasonable objectivity. (I can't really blame Mr. Conason for letting his feelings about these two shining lights show a bit).

I'd like to see more articles like this one. I hope someone sends it to Brothers Beck and Rush...

It's nothing really new, but it's important to point out that these two "news commentators" are liars, they make stuff up. It's horrible, what it does to our country.

It may be self evident who the racists actually are but this opinion piece lays out specific facts about Beck and Limbaugh to remove all doubt.
