Palin Makes Her First Gaffe

Speaking before voters in Colorado Springs, the Republican vice presidential nominee claimed that lending giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had "gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers." Politician misspeaks, media pounces. It's interesting, if in fact the misstatement was due to lack of knowledge, but honestly, this would be a good story if it indicated a clear, ongoing lack of understanding of how the economy works.
