The disparaging comments hurt the style, and are surprising in an unattributed editorial. But the information provided as evidence is quite good, and it lays out it's case fairly well. This seems to blame Palm Beach County for putting George W. Bush in the Whitehouse in 2000, but the evidence given for that is incomplete. This article is an example of good journalism. They take an historically important, particular story -- the Palm Beach county voting fiasco of the 2000 presidential election -- and show how it's happening again -- in a recent, close, disputed county election, drawing only a slim percentage of registered voters, a recount shows 3,478 ballots have disappeared, meaning the election probably will be decided in the courts, a la 2000 -- then from the implications, they paint the broad, dark picture for us of the expected-to-be-close presidential election of 2008.
