This interesting opinion piece challenges the classic view of the global economy as largely driven by capitalism and free market forces. The author presents a number of alternative economic systems as potential solutions to the blind pursuit of financial wealth. While some of these approaches may sound overly idealistic, a number of useful references are provided to social movements that are carrying these experiments forward. I would like to see more links to factual evidence from trusted sources, though. That said, it's an important topic, which deserves more coverage. Keep it up!

While this is an interesting and well-written piece, I would not characterize it as journalism. It is not an opinion on the news, but rather an essay.

Contains no new facts or research, almost no attributions, and rests on an array of unstated biases and presumptions. This is a poor editorial; it is not a news story at all.

An eloquent and intellectually stimulating piece on how to redefine our notion of the economy from "market economy " to what the writer called "solidarity economy". More of a manifesto calling for action than a news report. Well worth a read.

A good analysis about how we can create true participatory democracy and move away from dependence on unaccountable corporations.
