some of the major nations' representatives at the meeting are not mentioned/quoted, possibly as this is an early write-up of the meeting. i found it interesting that the focus was on ira's five-page proposal for talks. clearly this is just a beginning.

it strikes me how much commonality iran's behavior seems to have with that of an adolescent who acts out to gain adult attention, and who may often be impervious to typical consequences. a "five-page proposal for talks' ?? that could keep everyone busy for a while.

Good story, making it clear that the US is hostile to Iran because Iran supports Hezbollah and Hamas - - neither of which, of course, is an enemy of the US. The obvious support that Iran can offer to the government iof Afghanistan, and Iran's significance as a necessary party in the effort to lower the level of violence in Afghanistan, is not mentioned.

Iran has a right to enrich U-235 to 5% purity or less. The issue is adequate transparency. The US should not be hurting its own national interests, by trying to protect Israel from the negative effects of its; continuing oppression of the Palestinians.
