The Republican National Convention became the coming out party for Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska as John McCain's vice presidential nominee. A storm of worldwide negative media coverage scrutinizing every controversial detail of her life at times felt like a soap opera. Certainly anything the McCain campaign were to say about any of its motives is suspect. It has flipped positions numerous times on issues.
