Story points out Palin’s reduction in the budget for a state program benefiting teen mothers in need of a place to live and her belief in abstinence only education. Many families are not supportive of their pregnant teens for a situation that could have easily been avoided with education. To survive in today’s economy, both parents work in many families and teenagers are not provided with the supervision and education they need. The story only focuses on the one item in the budget and does not provide information on trends for funding, number of teens that use the program and if there is an increase in teen pregnancies as abstinence only education increases.
