Wherever John Hinderaker goes, his famous quote from the past will follow him: "It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius, he can't get anyone to notice. He is like a great painter or musician who is ahead of his time, and who unveils one masterpiece after another to a reception that, when not bored, is hostile."—John Hinderaker, Power Line Blog, July 28, 2005. So here we have a puff piece by Hinderaker and his partner, Scott Johnson, trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. In doing so, he repeats all the Republican talking points except the funniest one, from Cindy McCain and Steve Doocy on Fox News. Here's the exchange on ABC's This Week: STEPHANOPOULOS: But she has no national security experience. (Cindy) McCAIN: You know, the experience that she comes from is what she’s done in government, and remember, Alaska is the closest part of our continent to Russia. It’s not as if she doesn’t understand what’s at stake here. As Stephen Colbert noted, Alaska is also close to the North Pole. Palin must be an expert on Santa Claus, as well.
