Palin By Comparison

Don't underestimate the enormous benefit this provides the governor in the campaign and beyond as she takes up the duties of a vice president. Local government experience means an immersion in the real problems of real people as well as with a myriad of issues from the details of budgets for road maintenance and police and fire forces, to the land use issues I mentioned above, to parks and recreation and school construction issue issues. This interesting opinion uses opinions about government regulation as it's foundation, and therefore is not based on much evidence. But the notion that we say we are looking for politicians who are not insiders, yet balk at those who lack inside experience, makes this a good read. Contains one link but has almost no other sources. Some of the claims are dubious, and there is definitely some cherry picking here.

I can't believe News Trust would put this story up for review. The writing is pathetic and guy should stick to his radio show, which is no doubt right wing flavored silliness. What this guy is saying that a few years (or however many) service as mayor of a town with 7,000 people qualifies her to be vice president of the United States, a heartbeat away from the Presidency. Her short tenure as governor has not gone so well, apparently. There are not that many people in the whole state. It is an insult to not only females but all Americans for McCain to choose this apparently simple minded conservative woman as his vp. Of course McCain is pretty much of a joke these days too. .

Characterizing a stand further in the direction of the oil companies than the Bush administration re polar bears as bold and admirable is a a high hurdle, which I'm afraid this article misses on. And attempting to argue that administering the needs of a small town is perfect preparation for potentially running a country is again a magnificent effort to persuade, but it does not do so.
