Palin Pick Shores Up GOP Appeal to Women

Republican presidential nominee John McCain made history Friday when he appointed Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as the first woman to run in the No. 2 spot on a GOP presidential ticket.

The surprise move elated self-identified conservative women, who comprise 32 percent of the female electorate, according to a national survey of likely voters conducted in June by the Polling Company, based in Washington, D.C. The margin of error was about 5 percent. Full Story »

This article has a serious omission. It failed to include a key part of the larger context, which is that President Bush ignored General Shinseki's advise that a significantly larger force be used for the original invasion.
