This news analysis has modest journalistic merit. The author is unfamiliar with the Republican party or she would have known that Gov Palin was running second or third in every VP possibility poll for more than two months. So she hardly was a "darkhorse" choice.

I will break the rules and provide a little commentary not on this news report but the subjects involved. Happy 72nd senator. 44 year old Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska is an avid hunter and NRA fan and a rabid pro-lifer who categorizes herself as another maverick and a reformer. So does this mean that the powers to be are throwing in the towel to the dems or are they still hoping that they may lure the dejected Clinton voters or rely that racism will win the day for them?
