As I noted yesterday, an expert dragged into court to testify and asked point blank whether it is theoretically possible that a voting process built around voting machines running local applications could be corrupted has to say Yes - and that reality, no matter what caveats you put on it, dooms the current client-server architecture for e-voting. This is almost a product pitch, but it has an interesting premise. It touches on all aspects of the vote counting security problem. But it makes light of the flaws of the proposal, simply pointing out that one part of the system can be handled well. A thought provoking exercise. Lacks accessibility for those who do not know Unix technology. No sources given.
