A fine fact check by PolitiFact. Although I would hesitate to call Joe Biden the "proverbial career politician" when compared to the likes of Robert Byrd and Ted Kennedy.

No, this is very unfair journalism. Attacking the least wealthy U.S. senator for eight paragraphs or so and writing only two sentences about McCain's incredible wealth. Compared to mine, ha ha. Well compared to over 95% or more of ordinary Americans. Considering the worth of senators who have been in Congress for as long as Biden, seems to me he relatively poor! This story doesn't point out that Biden is basically a self made man, just like Obama. Certainly compared to John McCain, who married into his wealth. Do we want our senators and representatives and presidents to be dirt poor???? How ridiculous would that be? Very.
