It takes a lot of guts to get in a light fighter/bomber plane on an aircraft carrier and take off to drop bombs on targets. First though, let's stop referring to McCain as a fighter pilot. Fighter pilots are real heroes. McCain was brave but not a hero. Dropping napalm and HE on populated areas, is not heroic. It's more like mass murder. Most of his missions were over Hanoi or many were. McCain himself admitted to Mike Wallace and others he was ashamed of killing innocent Vietnamese including children and babies. He received very good care once the North Viets realized who he was. He collaborated with them and virtually every POW did that. I just read a story about another POW who was imprisoned for three years longer than McCain and this pilot, who knew McCain before and after they were in the Navy said there was no way he could bring himself to vote for John McCain. He liked and even admired McCain but felt he would be too unstable to be president of the United States with his finger on the nuclear trigger. McCain was a lousy pilot at first and destroyed three planes and another was destroyed on a carrier and he was shot down in one. He only became a Naval aviator because of his father and grandfather who were admirals. He got into Annapolis because of them and was allowed to graduate despite his pathetically low standing in his class. Probably a wonder he wasn't shot down sooner. A lot of conservatives/Republicans have a knee jerk reaction to Michael Moore and say the dumbest things. Moore is just pointing out the truth and it's hard for Republicans to accept it.
