Good question, but a very biased answer. Why is the free trade deal with Columbia so important? Earlier similar deals have not helped American workers or the economy. Nor do they seem to have benefited our trading partners. Why is offshore drilling a hallmark of effective governance? Every expert I've read says it won't bring down the cost of gas for years, and then only pennies. In short, why should every government be judged by its effectiveness at promoting the GOP agenda? Seem like a strange criteria--especially given how poorly it has worked the last 8 years.

A skewed op-ed full of neocon concoctions, misrepresentations and propaganda–even dragging out the ultra conservative special-interest chestnut currently in vogue about off shore drilling and domestic oil exploration suddenly becoming Americans’ pop topic of the moment. But in true neocon misinformation style, leaving out the part about the energy department saying any real benefits are insignificant and years away. The basic premise of the article is that only if Democrats govern like Bushies can they succeed. Given the grocery list of messes neocons have bequeathed to the country in, this is hollow utterance, indeed.

The first thing that came to mind as I read this commentary is that The Wall Street Journal is know owned by the same person that owns Fox News. The quality is comparable.
