This article reminds me of Judith Miller's crafting of reality before the Iraq invasion. The authors seem to accept without equivocation that Iran is lying and is bent on deceiving the world in its mad rush to build a nuclear weapon. They also have decided that, per their lead paragraph, "TEHRAN’S disclosure...has derailed the Obama administration’s already faltering efforts to engage with Iran." That's the gist of their article. Their crumb of peace at the end is that if Iran admits to being bad and agrees that they should be punished then we might just be willing to talk to them. Missing of course is the evident fact that Iran is a signatory to the NPT, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, (unlike Israel) and according to legitimate sources, they are in full compliance with the version of the treaty they have signed. As per their treaty, they were under no obligation to reveal the existence of this plant, still in the construction phase, at this time. Those are missing aspects of this story that are, in fact, the heart of the issue. If true, if Iran is in compliance with their signed treaty, then why all the blather and outrage? That, at the very least, is another issue worth the time of a worthy pair of journalists.
