Obamanomics: How Obama Reconciles Dueling Views on Economy

I have spent much of this year trying to get a handle on what is sometimes called Obamanomics and have come away thinking that Obama does have an economic ideology. Mr. Leonhardt has done much difficult research and has found and relied on many good sources to create an excellent, lengthy example of journalism at its best. He successfully attempts to elucidate Obama's complicated economic thinking. He decides Obama is an economic pragmatist who reconciles the best of formerly "dueling" economists Rubin and Reich and contrasting presidents, Clinton and Reagan. A must read for those who want to be economically informed voters.

thie author explains in context and detail what sen. obama's articulated economic ideas on various issues, can mean for government policy. highly sourced, complex with ideas and analysis, and looking to the future, the article explains not only his ideals in looking to the u.s. citizens and their government, also a greater pragmatic understanding of 'the economy' and the nuances involved in policies than anything we have imagined from sen. mccain. a vital issue as we go to an election.

An unnecessarily long article that could simply have cut to the chase to describe Obama's economic policy as "Reaganomics on Democracy". Leonhardt is a good writer and a knowledgeable economist who, unfortunately, spends a lot of time demonstrating it. If Obama is elected, Leonhardt suggests, changes to market structure will come slowly based investor's reactions to those changes.
