No mention of the American right-wing Christian community's support for their Israeli counterparts? I can't tell if that's a deliberate or unintentional omission. Either way, it hurts the balance in this op-ed, as does the devotion of far more discussion of ultra-Orthodox Israelis than to other religious extremists who are equal parties to this issue. Generalizations outweigh detailed evidence here. The assertion that "Time is running out" doesn't come across as very compelling as a result.

Religious extremism is a serious concern in the Middle East. I felt the article is well supported. There are horror stories being told on how Jerusalem is becoming ultra conservative and unwelcoming to secular Israelis Jews. Coupled with the fact that Hamas and Hezbollah are getting stronger and bolder, time is running out in the Middle East. I feel the best opportunity to solve the conflict was the 70s. It is now sadly too late. The article raises serious indigenous threat to Israel from within. Good piece!
