there's explicit information here, from expert sources from a range of organizations, to explain why iran's newly discovered enrichment site is suspected of being for the purpose of bomb-making by the u.s. and most of the western powers. included sources give credibility to reservations about the purpose. sec. clinton's quote here for iran to open up its system makes sense.

Obama clearly had no grounds for saying the "new" Iranian nuclear enrichment facility was "inconsistent with a peaceful program." That Iran appeared to be trying to have option of enriching U-235 to a purity far higher than 5%, without the world being the wiser, seems to be what transpired.

I have to hope Obama does not let himself be pushed into botching the opening to Iran that very much needs to be achieved in the national interests of the US.
