This brief article from USA Today gives a view of upcoming Iraqi elections being undermined by incumbent rulers who fear a loss of power if elections are conducted evenhandedly and transparent to all. Sources are two Iraqi partisan leaders and a link back to the article (!), and A Center for a New American Security official stresses the importance of clean elections for resolution of Iraqi conflicts.The Sunni Awakening leader fears fraud will discriminate against them, so violence will return to previous levels. It may be a moot point, since there isn't even a date set for elections.
