Krugman at his biting best. And, unfortunately, he's probably right. In truth, the fact that gasoline prices are so high that they've forced demand down--and that fewer Americans have jobs to drive to--have probably done more than a handful of Republican lawmakers refusing to go home and face their constituents to lower the price of gas. But the other is a better story. And simpler. And Krugman is right that both work.
