The Republican’s "stupid" strategy is based on the adage: "no one ever went broke underestimating the American people." It’s been outrageously successful keeping special-interest lackeys in power for eight years. And given Mccain's metamorphosis, it has a chance at another four years. The current drilling debacle—including the pitiable performance by Congressional Republicans meeting in the dark (how appropriate)—masks a major land grab while the Sisters of Oil still have lackeys at the trough.
