Well sourced story on China’s environmental problems that tried to document the majority of the statements but included some generalizations. “Sixteen of the world's twenty most polluted cities are in China” provided no criteria for the basis of the statement. Is this based on air, groundwater, or sediment pollution and what organization made the determination? Story is titled 'China’s Environmental Crisis' so I expected to read if pollution is causing an increase in birth defects and cancer and how the overall quality of life has been impacted by the crisis. There was no mention of the toxicity of the products that are manufactured in China and sent to the U.S. and how that impacts the environment in China. The links are ... More »
