You may have noticed a news item this week mentioning a visit to Washington by a group of Chinese dissidents, and a related House vote criticizing Beijng for its abuse of human rights. The House measure urged China to honour promises it made to improve its rights record before the start of the Olympic Games on Aug. 8.
