As a follow up to his excellent "Foreclosure Phil" article, Corn can rightfully opine in the manner he does here. The evidence of the cavalier attitude Gramm has about his insensitivity to the American Middle Class meltdown is in Gramm's own words explaining his reason for leaving the campaign. No mea culpas, no my unfortunate choice of words, just the typical Republican policy of blame those Democrats for my unfortunate albeit symbolic exit from the stage.

As the old song by the one-hit wonder Steam goes, "Nan-na-na-na-hey-hey-hey good-bye". As for Sen. Gramm's whining about being the butt of attacks: will somebody quick fetch me a Stradivarius already!

Not very informative--unless you've been living in a cave and somehow missed the media firestorm about the hapless Gramm--but I enjoyed it anyway. Just the right amount of sarcasm to make it an effective hit piece. The funny thing is that Gramm is not gone. He was at McCain's side just the other day in a German media photo outside the infamous Fudge Haus. And if that doesn't move your political irony meter, I don't know what will.

OK, what's interesting here is that people do not know, never heard, do not remember ... so much stuff. Ask a group individually about Phil Gramm. No one knows anything. His deregulation efforts have caused more havoc than I will attempt to list. In California, the Enron mess with power is a big deal. All over the place the breakdown of loans for homes problem, is a Phil fiasco. David Corn is right on target. Gramm is grim and still around, Vote for McCain and you may, probably will, get Gramm.

NIce and pithy, ha ha. Decent people should say a prayer every morning that McCain and his advisors keep on doing the stupidest things imaginable. Maybe it is arrogance that makes them act like morons, but I think it is a combination of stupidity and anti-Humanism that made them do such a really dumb thing picking a thug like Gramm to help them, ha ha. Maybe they feel most Americans are too stupid to remember all the crooked things Gramm did when he was a senator and what he did afterwards too, of course, but leopards don't change spots, so no wonder Phil kept up with his quasi criminal behavior.

Very good... It is applicable to both of the major US political parties... Democrats no less than Republicans! Both need major overhauling and change! Both are tied too strongly to corporate interests and not the people of this country!
