The article serves a purpose in view of the statistics that show many women are unaware of McCain's views on women and on reproductive and privacy rights issues. It may keep some from voting against their interests. The right wing big media is not likely to focus on these issues.

This opinion piece has minimal journalistic value. It repeats cliches promoted by the abortion industry, and shows little awareness of the issues. More women are pro-life than men, for example. And the vast majority of women as well as men are opposed to partial birth abortions. The Bush administration has an excellent record on women’s rights, working actively to improve the standing of women in Africa and Asia. The author does not interview anyone who is objective, only representatives of those women's organizations that support her ideology.

I think this is really important to know, and for that reason it's excellent journalism. I wasn't aware of this background at all, just admired the Republican contender really for his survival of being a prisoner-of-war for so long in Vietnam and his service to the country as a politician, generally.
