These articles keep getting scarier and scarier. Yet another warning among increasing warnings that countries–particularly the United States–need to stop jawboning and initiate real action to alter behavior while we still can. The signs keep growing: decreasing marine life, polar bears on the endangered species list, unprecedented ice melting, oil pollution, thousands more penguins dying, coral reefs disappearing, acidic oceans. Humans cannot exist on a planet with dead oceans. Have we reached critical mass in the earth’s ability to sustain continued increases in population?
