Hunter is a lifelong Republican - a supply-side conservative. He worked in the Reagan White House. He was the chief economist at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for five years. In 1994, he helped write the Republican Contract with America. He served on Bob Dole's presidential campaign team and was chief economist for Jack Kemp's Empower America. Some of his statements and arguments here come from that perspective, but his setting of priorities of foreign policy and the rule of law under the constitution do have universal appeal. He presents an interesting viewpoint.
