First-rate reporting from one of the finest journalists in Iraq. Cockburn gives a nuanced picture of a complex situation, delineating the interests of the several parties involved. Unlike some liberals who insist that America can't possibly do anything right, he acknowledges that the American position is stronger than a year ago, but infers that the position isn't sustainable. A must read for anyone who wants to understand what's going on in Iraq now.
