Walt pursuasively argues that a two state solution is in the best interest of Israel, then points out why Israel will not agree and why Obama's advocacy for that will remain muted and ineffective for political reasons. His closing paragraph urges Obama to take the issue on but that seems unlikely in the near term in view of the points just made.

Yet another outstanding assessment from Stephen Walt. Netanyahu believes Obama's ability to act in the interests of the US is fatally compromised by the Israel lobby.

Israel under its current government is a direct threat to the national interests of the US. Obama needs to tell Israel it must get out of the West Bank permanently, and entirely (with minor negotiated exchanges with Palestine).

The best and most effective thing Pres. Obama could do is to announce that he has too many other things to do than to spend all his time trying to sort out the Arab Israeli question. "If you guys want help my door is open but until than, solong"

Yes. Because it states fact and it is a very informative text. I thought it was kinda boring but it was still informative.
