Tom Friedman has really done his homework on energy and climate change as shown in this column and a number of others as well as his book and documentary. In this column, he cites the contradiction between the administration's claim to seeking solutions for oil dependency and its lack of support for the drivers that will make those solutions possible, ie: credits for wind and solar, a floor for oil and gas prices, etc.

Excellent job helping to debunk the talking point that we need to offshore oil drill to get the gas prices down. It has been interesting to see how quickly people jumped on the bandwagon that offshore oil drilling would reduce gas prices without a thought about impacts to the environment, reasons behind the skyrocketing prices which are not related to supply and demand, and the amount of time required to get a drop of oil from these new leases. The lack of action on the expiration of the tax credits for renewable energy should be the bigger story than drilling for more oil.

A very informative editorial in which Mr. Friedman illustrates "the gall" (and in my opinion the arrogance) of Mr. Bush regarding energy policy.

Political and emotional claptrap by someone who appears to not have done his homework. Makes claims that are manifestly not true. Anyone who know the subject could see this. Unfortunately most people are denied the facts and their opinions are clouded by emotion such as this.
