This is both eye-opening and heartbreaking for avid Obama supporters (which, in the interest of full disclosure, I confess to be). The piece not only relates the details of Obama's support for a Georgia incumbent for personal political purposes and over principle, and that Obama has not inserted himself in opposition to Telecom immunity, it also warns that unreasoned adulation (or condemnation) can be self-defeating. Informed voters must bear in mind that their candidates operate within an established system that is resistant to change. Many decisions they will make may be questionable, even inconsistent, anecdotally. I am under the impression that Greenwald is a liberal Democrat. For that reason, it is all the more admirable that he is willing to show his candidate "with all his warts."
