The former president did the country a favor by bringing up race.
I think this journalist got it exactly right, and it's important to distingish between for pure racism and disageement on policy. I think those who are racist are 'bringing fuel to the fire' to the ultra-right conservatives such as Ann Coulter, who tries to be 'cute' and 'funny' about it.
