The former president did the country a favor by bringing up race.
I think this journalist got it exactly right, and it's important to distingish between for pure racism and disageement on policy. I think those who are racist are 'bringing fuel to the fire' to the ultra-right conservatives such as Ann Coulter, who tries to be 'cute' and 'funny' about it. None of them are doing the conservatives or the Repuclican party a favor.

this opinion is fair in citing some reservations about pres. carter's message while generally agreeing with it, and uses specific types of critics' statements to cite his reasons for agreement, and points to rep. joe wilson's history of perceived bias in his state senate to support questioning his motive.

A moderate and well reasoned piece that argues that while mainstream objections to Obama's policies are not motivated by race, the nastiest and grossly dishonest probably are.

Quality journalism because it's unafraid of the truth.

My views are as follows: the Republican party has turned into a lynch mob and the republicans who still have a moral center are calling themselves 'Independents' for the moment.
