'What About Afghanistan?'

What about Afghanistan? A majority of the U.S. population and the Congress -- like the majority of Iraqis and Iraqi parliamentarians -- want the U.S. to withdraw from Iraq by a date certain. Senator Obama, the Democratic nominee, is expected by his supporters to get the U.S. out of Iraq if he is elected President.

This analysis of the Afghanistan strategy asks some very important questions about the occupation and suppression of Afghanistan as that conflict is now extant. Is it another quagmire awaiting us, like it did for the Brits and the Russians, and as is happening in Iraq? There is no "good war," and this conflict is not getting appropriate scrutiny.
