White House threatens veto: Energy bill

Gasoline has passed $4 per gallon, on average - when first presented with the possibility that prices might reach that mark, at the end of February, President Bush said he "hadn't heard that.''

Now that everyone has heard the bell, congressional leaders want to do something about it. But the White House is threatening a veto of the response.
