Obama battles great racial divide

Obama doesn't want this furor on his hands right now, given all the incredibly important policy decisions he's handling.

But critics are off base when they carp about Carter and his comments. They were truthful. And they sting. Full Story »

A short solid excellent editorial which cuts directly to the truth–always most toilsome. The editorial cites percentages of those who voted for Obama in both Southern and Midwest states. The results are most illuminating and make a strong case for racism. Indeed, of the 47% who voted for McCain, given that about 18% are true right-wing “believers,” chances are that 29% voted against a black man, rather than for/against a candidate. In light of the right-wing’s screaming reaction, they also understand Carter’s assertion.

As for the nutcake right wing overreaction to Carter, “Me thinks they doth protest too much.”

This short editorial is easy to respond to negatively. But, take a moment and think about it and it is hard to see as negative.

Wake up America! Former President Carter is correct. We might not like it but that does not change the fact.

Sad but true

Americans have to learn to play the ball, not the man. To look at what their leaders say and more important what they do rather than how good they are as movie stars or what racial background they come from. The stakes are far too great not only for America but for the world to carry on in this alice in wonderland world of theirs.

It is short and insightful and to the point.

I have to say I agree with the author and Carter. There is a racial divide that exists in this country and many don't even know it when they see it. Just because the President is African-American does not change anything.
