Well written informative article outlining the issues McCain will face trying to capture both the right wing faction of the Republican Party and the moderates. Neither group is passionate about him so the campaign is disorganized. Interesting that McCain is courting the groups that oppose gay marriage and also the gay and lesbian community.

Strongly biased conservative slant....with very little memory of the election (crimes) shenanigans of 04. I get a gut feeling of this as an Accurate assessment of the present situation.

This is a gossipy sort of story that we all like, but it's hard to know just how general the feeling expressed in it are. while it seems plausible that conservative republicans don't like McCain's policies, they probably dislike Obama's even more.

I do not trust the Los Angeles Times because I sense a bias toward John McCain. I find that reporters for the LA Times give Mr. McCain the benefit of the doubt. They ignore his flip flops or make excuses for him. However, Mr. Wallstein's article is different . He appears to state the facts based on interviews,analyses, and observations.
