Why This Fifty-Five Year Old White Lifelong Republican Wants Obama To Win

I'm a fifty-five year old white man who has been a conservative most of my life. I've been a Republican activist who campaigned for McCain in 2000. I'm a big fan of the military. My son served in the Marines. If Obama can reach me he can reach anyone.

As one man's heartfelt decision, this doesn't fit most of the rating criteria. It is powerfully written, moving, and somewhat startling. He makes a good case for why this country cannot afford another shoot-from-the-lip warrior president. Deeply personal, and not at all objective, it offers a somewhat unique perspective on this year's presidential race.

This publication is collaborating with NewsTrust. There is therefore an automatic conflict of interest, and the piece needs to be removed. The credibility of NewsTrust depends on avoiding conflicts of interest, and pieces from all collaborating organizations must be prevented from being rated if NewsTrust is to be taken seriously.
