McCain facing game of fundraising catch-up

WASHINGTON -- One of the first things visitors to John McCain's web site see is a plea from the Arizona senator for money to help him with his presidential bid. An identical plea greets visitors to Sen. Barack Obama's web site. Facts about fundraising presented clearly, but since the general picture is pretty well known, I would have liked to know more about why the two campaigns have differences regarding who they will accept funds from, and what this may tell us about the candidates. Another question: What industries tend to contribute to which candidate? The scope of the article is too limited.

The story with lots of information gathered from campaign sources explains McCains problem of raising money. Obama appears to have the edge in this area.
