The specific instances of lies and mischarterizations from the reich wing give some specificity and validity to the story. The GOP wallows in the goop.

Besides the obvious point that the Repugs will launch vicious attacks on the Obamas, the main point of this blog is that they are trying to brand Obama a 'radical,' and that this has racist overtones. Okay, so how do we respond to this? By getting all indignant? Or by turning the tables by debunking the charges and citing facts that show that McSame is the one pushing the truly radical, anti-American agenda? Ostroy's heart is in the right place, but deploring sleazy tactics doesn't stop them.

A story that seems more warning than journalism. Liberal-conservative is depicted as a horizontal line; liberals to the left, conservatives on the right. However, a better picture is to turn the line into a circle, the bottom representing the most radical–showing there’s no difference between radicals–left or right. Of course the neocon smear machine will be full of outrageous, heinous mudslinging and bloodletting. There’s nothing like being pushed off a cliff to focus one’s desperation. But the real question is how much credibility will the vilifiers have with voters who are weary after eight long years of contentious neocon lying and smearing?

We need plenty of articles exposing the feces covered underbelly of the Republican attack machine.

It would be nice to have more depth to the article, but after the last 7 years, I cant deny the truth of the story.

This piece should not have been offered on NewsTrust for conflict-of-interest reasons, as it is from a partner organization. In addition, it has no journalistic merit. The author is ignorant about every relevant fact. He does not know about the venom addressed against George W. Bush every day, including many urging his assassination (even some plays and books advocating this) and against Laura Bush. Senator Obama and his wife are being handled Very gently by the Republicans, in comparison to the attacks on McCain and Bush (just see the pieces on NewsTrust today to confirm that). The author might read up on American politics (try 1800, 1864 or 1876 for starters) before further showing how ignorant of history he is.

It's a good but sickening story and Sean Hannity is one of the most disgusting newscasters in the business. I can't believe anyone would watch this man and his ridiculous drivel. Actually I never watch Fox at all.

Laying out what to expect from the yellow journalists is one of the best protections against them, while still allowing the reader to do the 'fine tuning' judgements on their own. It gives credit to the readers intelligence.

It is one thing to comment- but this a rant. Comes very close to hypocritical as the author's point was the bias coverage and attacks on Obama but then he goes off in the same manner on such critics.
