According to the article, McCain's visit set off a round of "he said, he said" criticism--and the article then duly reports it with very limited analysis. Is McCain consistent? Does he really vote down every omnibus spending bill? He says Obama is part of the 'same old system,' but isn't that system simply the way Congress works? Isn't he just as much a part of it? Wouldn't two months in Iraq pay for the entire Water Bill, pork and all? These pertinent questions aren't touched on.

Well written, informative and balanced article. Because the article covers how the two candidates and their supporters voted on the Everglades, it would have been useful to have included their overall voting record on environmental issues. The article indicates that McCain missed the Everglade vote but does not mention that McCain has missed every major environmental vote. McCain has the lowest ranking of every member in the 110th Congress from the League of Consevation Voters. He can say that he supports environmental protection but his voting record does not support that statement.
