This article emphasizes the importance of the individual in history, arguing (and rightly so) that the world would be a lot different today if Al Gore had won the election in 2000. It presents a broad picture of how a McCain presidency might look on the world stage. The article is clear and chock-full of information about transatlantic relations and includes an assessment of how they would be influence by a McCain presidency.

This opinion piece is poor journalism. There are so many errors. Since 2000, anti-American regimes in Germany, France, Sweden and other countries have been replaced by strongly pro-American ones. The most strongly pro-American Secretary-General of the UN in decades was elected with the help of European governments. Europe is more pro-American today. And e4ven the New York Times today admits that the war against Islamist terrorists has been extraordinarily successful around the world.

Can you imagine if Russia was not a member of the G8, why President George Bush would be Emperor George Bush of the U.S.A Empire and he would be fiddling while the world burns like he is fiddling while the Middle East is burning. As for John McCain he love nothing better than to be the next Emperor in his old age, he would be the equivalent of CALIGULA.
