John McCain's Idea Of 'Change'

Does this look vaguely familiar? (graphic of McCain ad: 'A Leader We Can Believe In') I kid you not, this was taken directly from the McCain web site. Underneath the picture are these words: 'The choice is between the right change and the wrong change; between going forward and going backward.' I may be wrong, but if McCain wants to promote himself as 'the right change' a good place to start might be by not ripping off his opponents logo and slogan. But ... Full Story »

This is a piece critical of McCain, but it's a blogger column, and so it doesn't have to be "balanced" in the same way we would expect a news article to be. The piece points out an obvious problem with McCain's message--that his idea of "change" is hypocritical, to say the least. It also points out the potential problem of campaign funding and the fear of the republicans that Obama will be able to outspend McCain. I think we need more of this, frankly, to make people realize McCain's double talk. But these opinion pieces don't usually persuade those who don't already agree with the points.

I favor it because it does point out the how McCain is swiping Obama's theme. Also it is rewarding to realize that Obama's ability to raise funds for his campaign that is better than McCain. I favored this article perhaps I shouldn't since it does attack McCain, so be it. The press has too long been giving the Republicans free rein for too long. Its a delight when they reveal their shortcomings.

The article is an opinion piece, shallow in depth but insightful. McCain is certainly not a snake charmer and will definitely have difficulty raising funds for his presidential campaign. On a charisma scale of 1-10 his rating would be a two.
