Interesting debunking of a rumor that is spreading on the right side of the blog world, or if one sees this as Machiavellian--further spreading of said rumor. I'm willing to believe the former. Interesting speculation about a possible link between Michelle Obama's remarks and a prior work of fiction. Regrettably, most of this remains speculative at best, gossip at worst. It's an impressive example of how and why to dispell rumors. There are surely countless other such rumors out there spread by racists and believed by the fearful.

This discussion is giving credence to the story that is a no brainer. Michelle Obama is too savy and too public to be used in this way. Whoever tried to place this story in the mainstream and right wing press is not only insane but in another country would be sued for libel. In short, I'm disgusted by this story, rumor or not. It's ironic that it's Frey that wrote the novel.
