Sen. Joe Lieberman, the self-described "Independent Democrat" who caucuses with the Democratic party in the Senate even though he has endorsed Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz, got some tough talk from Sen. This is not an example of good journalism. If they had left out the speculated "stern talk" that was confirmed only by nameless cowards, it could have been a solid journalistic piece about how some Democrats are frustrated-to-upset with Lieberman's appearance of playing lead attack dog for the Republicans. But to impute to Obama a conversational style and substance that he doesn't acknowledge and, worse, make that the article's lead and central focus is an example of poor journalism -- sensational fiction conjured for increased readership.
