Candidate McCain: A Risky Choice

On the positive side, Senator McCain has built a long history of independence in the U.S. Senate, so much so that he is often referred to as a maverick. For example, Sen. McCain has displeased many Republicans by supporting political finance reform, by denouncing state torture and even by criticizing initially the way the Bush-Cheney administration launched the Iraq war. No, it isn't good journalism, and it wasn't particularly good writing. The story could have been half the length and the writing style is pedantic. "Let us remember" "it is no wonder" "red flag" The writing is as uninteresting as a McCain presidency.

Thirdly, Sen. McCain does not seem to know or care about international law. Indeed, not only is Sen. McCain constantly confusing the Sunnis and the Shi’ites in Iraq, ... More »

everything the author says is pretty much documented. How McCain would act as president is speculative but I believe that his past is a fair indicator. A rather dismal picture of a McCain Presidency but probably close to being accurate.

A one-sided view of McCain which is favorable for those against McCain but there are not enough sources cited. While one might agree with this article, journalistically it is too biased.

This opinion piece has minimal journalistic merit. The author does not believe in facts. He rants about McCain and Bush, but is ignorant about every issue. Bush did not cut taxes for the rich, he raised them on the rich substantially through tax rate cuts. And everyone knows that there are many cancers much more deadly than melanoma, contrary to the author's claim. One could fisk this endlessly.

This almost appears to be something written by a staff member in Obama's campaign. Other than a source of some of McCain's more outrageous positions or statements, which may be useful for campaign ads, it's usefulness is questionable.
